Mayor Schoenbein's First Year

Keeping the promises I made during my campaign has been my highest priority. During my first year in office, my administration has taken meaningful action to strengthen city services, improve operations, and better serve our residents and businesses. Some of our key accomplishments include:

• Convention Center Redevelopment: Rebudgeted the Convention Center project and launched a comprehensive redesign to better meet the current and future needs of our community, businesses, and stakeholders.
• Enhanced Emergency Medical Services: Replaced an ambulance service that was not meeting expectations with a new, expanded provider to improve emergency response and better serve the residents of our city.
• Modernized Permitting System: Replaced an outdated and inefficient permitting process with a modern online system, making it easier and more convenient for residents and businesses to access city services.
• Commitment to Transparency: Initiated and completed a forensic audit to establish accountability, transparency, and a strong foundation for my administration.
• Strengthened Government Partnerships: Built and expanded collaborative partnerships with local, Harris County, state, and federal agencies to enhance services, secure resources, and better position our city for future success.
